Linda and Lawrence Kutac started the Dixie Carpet Journey in 1973 with the goal of serving the greater Houston area by supplying a turnkey service for property managers and general contractors. Located in Houston, they thoughtfully organized a group of dedicated employees and installers to what makes up Dixie Carpet Installations Inc today. With a primary focus on Multifamily Interiors, Dixie carpet has completed a multitude of New Construction properties, from Garden Style to Mid-rise builds, all while leading the Texas based Replacement industry.

After decades of positive growth, the company expanded into their new corporate office in Houston to better accommodate this thriving development. Along with locations in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Each location services their geographic reach with local installers equipped with the best training and resources to install carpet, rolled goods, luxury vinyl tile, laminate, engineered wood, floor tile, and wall tile.

In 2019 Dixie Carpet was acquired by the Artisan Design Group, who share a passion of providing quality-controlled installation and product procurement services while maintaining the integrity of the original culture. Subsequently this merger established them as one of the top flooring suppliers in the country.
